7 Days!…

A week from today the 2014 Beachbody Summit opens in Las Vegas. I can hardly wait for a bunch of reasons, not the least of which is the release of PiYo, the latest Beachbody program from celebrity trainer, Chalene Johnson. PiYo is a no-impact program that combines flexibility, mobility and intense cardio (did I mention that these are no-impact exercises?) to not only get you into great shape, but to rehab from injuries and overwork.

The timing on this for me could not be more perfect. In the past 12 months I’ve done two rounds of T25 and one round each of P90X2 and P90X3, along with pick-up soccer games and regular old day to day bumps and knocks. I need some rehab.

Chalene has said that she decided to revisit PiYo (the program was originally created as a group fitness class taught in commercial gyms) due to her own injuries that were limiting her activity. When her doctor told her she needed to work on her flexibility and mobility she decided to go back to PiYo, refine it and add to the program to build it into something that could be a complete fitness program.

Starting in July I will be joining a group of Team Beachbody coaches who will host a PiYo Challenge Group on Facebook. We’ll all do the program together with select clients. Participants will get the advantage of a number of experienced coaches to guide them through the program, including two NASM Certified Personal Trainers. We’ll also have contests and some pretty cool prizes to give away for the people who join us on this challenge.

If you’d like to be considered for the group, let me know.
