This is so much teh awesome…

You Have To Work Out To Get A Workout.

I really, really, really wish I’d written this because it’s absolutely, 100%, on-the-money, right.

If it ain’t hard, it ain’t a workout.  That’s not to say you should be puking your guts out or unable to move the next day, but it should make you uncomfortable while you’re doing it.

For example – today was my interval day.  I did 10 minutes of kettlebell swings and 10 minutes of burpees.  12 kettlebell swings followed by about 30 seconds of rest.  8 burpees followed by about 24 seconds of rest.  Altogether, 20 minutes of my time.  But when I was done with my last burpee I literally could not have done one more.  I was cashed.  That, my friends, is a workout.  Didn’t take me hours.  Wasn’t particularly complicated, but also was in no way, shape, or form, comfortable.

If you’re comfortable while doing it, it’s not stressing your body, and if it’s not stressing your body it’s not really doing much of anything.
