I love Nerd Fitness, and I really love this column.  My favorite bit – “I want results. Track everything.  ‘That which gets measured gets improved.'”

I’ve said it before – if you want to lose weight, increase fitness or alter your body composition, you have to know where you’re starting from and you have to keep track of what you’re doing and the results of that work.  If you do none of these things then you might as well just stop now.  Without objective measurements you will, at best, have a vague idea of what’s going on.  At worst, you will wallow in a pit of subjective judgments based on, well, basically, your mood and what you think you see in the mirror.
